CHOQUEQUIRAO TREK 3 DAYS 

The great city of Choquequirao is located between the glacieres of the Humantay and the Salkantay 3 days, it is denominated to him like the sister city of the Machupicchu by its architectonic and structural similarity of its construction. It is located in the area of Vilcabamba - cusco, it is said that Choquequirao was the control center of entrance to the hot valleys of Vilcabamba.

Currently Choquequirao has become one of the best alternatives along with the Inca Trail, competing in landscape and adventure beauty.

Choquequirao is made for people who love the walk, not only can you visit the great city of Choquequirao but also if you add more days to your itinerary (7, 8 days all the tour), you can get to Machupicchu. But in this blog we offer the visit to this Inca citadel in just 3 days in case you do not have enough time to do this tour.

What is the itinerary that Mamacoca Expeditions flange?

The itinerary provided by Mamacoca Expeditions is as follows:

Day 1: Cusco-  Capuliyoc  – Santa rosa  – Maranpata

We leave from Cusco early in the morning. Approx. at 4:00 we will arrive after 4 ½ hours to capuliyoc (2,900m), place where we meet the rest of our trekking team. On the way down we get our first views of the Apurimac Valley stretching below and of the snow-capped peaks of Padreyoc and Wayna Cachora (5,482m).then we arrive Rosalinda for our lunch , finally 3hours up to Santa Rosa , place where we camp the first night.

Camping : Maranpata 2250 m.a.s.l

Climate : warm and sunny

Distance :  15km

Trekking  time : 8 hour

Day2:  Maranpata – Choquequirao – Chiquiska

After breakfast we get up very early to reach the archaeological site of Choquequirao and we get to know it step by step  and  exploring this stone city, after to explore Choquequirao we have our lunch, finally return to  Chiquiska place where we camp the second night.

Camping : Chiquiska 2400 m.a.s.l

Climate : warm and windy

Distance : 12km

Trekking time : 7 hour

Day3: Chiquiska – Capuliyoc – Cusco

Early in the morning after breakfast we continue to climbing 4 hours, on the way we can appreciate again the majestic Padreyoq snow hat decorate the Apurimac Canyon until Mirador Capuliyoq place for having lunch then retun to Cusco.

Trekking time : 4 hour
